Tweetin’

I never – and I mean never – thought I’d ever see the day when I would open a Twitter account. The whole idea of communicating in 140 characters or less has always seemed like a thumbnail sketch of everything that is wrong with modern living. The pace of human activity is so quick that we don’t have time to talk, to write, to do much of anything.
But I’ve rethought it, most of it, and I’ve decided to give it a try for a while. I think that being able to instantly relate something to people who might be interested might not be such a bad thing. I can put out the word about upcoming film showings and slide presentations, I can announce gear sales (especially limited-time gear sales, like the one that will be happening soon), and I can also hear back from people in what the kids today call “real time.” Maybe that’s a good thing… time will tell.
Meanwhile, if you’re interested, you can sign up for the feed at the Twitter page. Clicking on the icon on the right side of the blog will get you there too. Like I said, there will be a pretty major sale coming up soon on a variety of paddling gear and I’m only going to put the word out on Twitter. That could be worth the time it takes to sign up right there.
