Curtain call

“Cheer up, Ed. This is not goodbye. It’s just I won’t ever see you again.”
Lt. Frank Drebin
Naked Gun 33 1/3

I don’t know what to blame for this early winter funk. It could be the rain, but it’s too damn early in the season to get depressed about that; there’s at least five more months of reasonably heavy precipitation before it starts getting better. Maybe it’s the economy, both personal as well as collective. “Poverty Sucks,” to quote the bumper sticker. It could just as easily be the death of actor Leslie Neilsen, who succumbed this past weekend to pneumonia at the age of 84. That sucks too.

More than likely it’s a combination of these things and others that has me wishing I were out there, somewhere. Out where? It hardly seems to matter at this point.
