I get the National Geographic magazine, mostly because it is the most motivational, inspiring, intelligent and amazing magazine on the planet. I actually read the articles now, not just look at the pictures – which is not that bad a way to read it either. It helps me see beyond my limited horizons, helps me to be a little less provincial.
From the latest issue, here’s one sentence that may or may not help you put things in perspective:
“The largest 3-D map of the universe, created by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III, includes galaxies up to six billion light-years from Earth.”
Think about that.
