Your voice

It seems like, every four years, we’re told that “this is the most important election of your life.” I would think that with the law of averages being what it is, they can’t all be the most important, or even the most important so far.
But why quibble over false superlatives? I don’t know if it’s the most important political event since we dropped out of the banyan trees and onto the Serengeti, but I do know that it’s important enough that you should make your voice heard. (I voted a few weeks ago and I’d do it again, if they let me.)
I don’t have any advice about any of the candidates who should get your support… those are decisions that everybody needs to make for themselves. I have opinions – oh yes, I have opinions – but they don’t have a place here. (Perhaps you’re familiar with what is said about “opinions.”) As long as you fill out the ballot, pull the lever, touch the screen or punch the chad, I’m ok with whoever it is that you are voting for.
I was never good at math but the way I see it, if we vote for the same person, that’s great. It means my choice gets twice as many votes as I can provide on my own. If you vote for the other guy, that’s ok too. My vote will cancel yours out. Life goes on.
Just don’t leave any chads hanging… I’m looking at you, Florida.
