More hockey, if you please
Personally, I think that hockey should be in the Olympics. I know, I know, it is. But I think it should be in the summer games as well as the winter… I mean, if LA can win the Stanley Cup, there’s no reason to keep the ice-men down, right? The way I see it, you can never have too much hockey and it would make any Olympics better, more fun… just my opinion.
I’ve been watching the London games a bit. I’m impressed, as always, with the grace and athleticism of the participants, even as I am baffled as to why some are there and others are not. Why? Why is 10-meter air rifle an Olympic event and women’s softball is not? Why do they have 20 different swimming events but the basketball portion of the games doesn’t include a medal for a game of H.O.R.S.E? I am enjoying the water polo… a lot. But why did they axe the steeplechase and keep the triple-jump? It all seems rather arbitrary. I don’t mean to stir up any controversy, just asking.
And I know, there’s field hockey. But nobody’s actually thinking that has anything to do with real hockey, right?
