A Welcome calm

After the wind has stopped, the waters ease. Where once were wild whitecaps and salty spray, now is almost tranquil. Almost. There is still moving water that will get your attention, pronounced eddylines that snake along the shear between the currents, but the waves have disappeared. The surface of the Narrows reflects the lights of the bridges and the houses along its shores once more.

It’s a pleasure to see this part of the day, to touch the elements and to fly silently through a place where, just yesterday, the waves rolled.
