Down on the corner
Of course, it wasn’t that long ago that Neah Bay was never all that busy. Summer, winter… didn’t matter. Fishermen knew about the place, but 
other than that, the Makah reservation was all but off the map for most Northwesterners. That’s changed, a little bit, anyway. It seems nothing’s as far away as it used to be.
I’ve been there dozens of times, spent a good few days on the water there, where the one constant is the need to respect the conditions; it is a serious place. This is most decidedly not Puget Sound, after all. It is, however, one of the most intensely beautiful spots on Earth and I am certainly due a return visit. Any day now.
Makah Days, anyone?
