Actually, I have none of these things. I will be unavailable for the next six days. Off-line. Outside the operating area for cell phones, carrier pigeons and the internet. Well, perhaps a carrier pigeon could make it.

Our first destination is Lake Ozette, where we’ll spend a couple days canoeing and take a side trip out to the beach at Wedding Rocks. Micah’s been camping quite a bit since he showed up at our house, but this will be his first time in a tent. He’s pretty excited. After that, we’ll be meeting up with a couple friends near the Hoh and I’ll be doing a 3-day coastal kayaking trip with them from La Push to Ruby Beach – the Forgotten Coast – that’s how I think of that stretch of shoreline. I haven’t paddled it before and because of that, as well as the fact that it completes my experience on the roadless coast portion of the state, I am looking forward to what we’ll find. We are also planning on an out-and-back to Destruction Island before we head home.

If you need to get in touch with me, send a pigeon.
